Kubla Khan: or, A Vision in a Dream: A Fragment
A poem written by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, completed in 1797, and composed composed one night after he experienced an opium-influenced dream after reading a work describing the summer capital of a mongol emperor.
I've always loved this poem, since I first heard it referenced in a Douglas Adams book and found its dreamy half-recollection of a vision is beautiful and haunting .
My idea was that the hazy half forgotten opium dream that is this poem would work well accompanied by AI generated art, so I poured us a cup of tea and read VQCAN+CLIP this poem.
So I present to you, a narrated version with visuals dreamed up by machine learning - hope you enjoy! Let me know your thoughts or favorite poems / poets in the comments!
